Two Hamilton men have been arrested in relation to a robbery at a Burlington variety store yesterday.

The incident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. at Maplewood Variety on Brant Street near Prospect Street, said Halton police.

One man brandished a knife and knocked a 60-year-old, lone female employee to the ground, while the other removed cash and cigarettes.

The men then fled in a vehicle stolen from Hamilton. They soon abandoned the vehicle and ran, but were quickly apprehended by police on foot.

The investigation continues.
