(Mar 10, 2010) —Hamilton police have charged one man with aggravated assault in the shooting of another Monday afternoon but are still looking for a handgun.

The 42-year-old man was shot in the foot in a home on Bristol Street about 3 p.m. police said.

Police who were called to a report of an entry in progress at the same house Tuesday morning surrounded the home and sent tactical officers to call the occupants out of the house about 10 a.m.

All three were arrested when they emerged with their hands up.

Two were released unconditionally and the third, a 27-year-old Hamilton man who does not reside in the home was later charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm and breach of probation.

Sergeant Terri-Lynn Collings said the heavy tactical effort was mounted at the home because of the shooting police determined took place there the previous day.

Collings also said no firearms were recovered after police cleared the three occupants from the home.
