Two Burlington men face child-pornography charges in a province-wide bust revealed today.

The men, 51 and 35, were arrested Tuesday and charged with making available and possessing child pornography. Both were scheduled to appear in Milton court for a bail hearing  this morning.

The arrests were announced among details of a province-wide investigation released by the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet.

Arrests were also made in Brantford, Guelph, and Stevensville near Fort Erie

Two child victims were  identified during the investigation - one in Ontario and one outside of Canada  - and numerous charges regarding possession of prohibited weapons have been laid.

A total of 44 search warrants were executed across the province, resulting in 122 charges against 35 people, including six youths 15 to 17 who can not be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act..

Charges include sexual assault, possession of child pornography, make available child pornography, distribution of child pornography, making child pornography, accessing child pornography, and various drug offences.

The OPP and representatives of the police forces involved - including Hamilton - announced numerous charges flowing from the investigation at a 10 a.m. press conference at The Travelodge Hotel  on Airport Road in Toronto.

The joint investigation included police officers from Hamilton, Halton and Niagara police officers will be in Toronto today when the OPP announce numerous charges in connection with a province-wide child pornography investigation.

The Burlington arrests were made by the Halton police Internet Child Exploitation unit as part of the ‘Provincial Strategy’ partnership,” said Sergeant Brian Carr.
